Logistics Trainer (PART-TIME)

Company Overview:

Pay: $19-$28/hr, commensurate with experience.

Hours: Monday 10-12pm, Tuesday-Wednesday 8:30-3pm (this is the usual, but could be subject to change depending on training schedules.) Occasionally there is a Monday training until 5pm.

Position Overview:

The Logistics Trainer role is a part-time position that helps deliver ReadyToWork® training programs to train and certify novice and beginner trainees in targeted industrial workplace skills, specifically use of warehouse tools such as the standup reachlift, forklift, and electric pallet jack. This trainer will work in partnership with RTW’s full-time Training Specialist, but will also lead trainings on their own as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide classroom delivery of Supply Chain & Logistics concepts to novice and beginner level professionals

  • Deliver and oversee hands-on, practical training using warehouse tools such as stand up reachlift and forklift to participants of diverse backgrounds utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to ensure knowledge retention

  • Evaluate trainee proficiency on equipment and effectively their rate their performance to determine certification eligibility

  • Maintain safety and order throughout the training experience, adhering to 5S principles in the warehouse space

  • Administer written and practical exams and awards certifications

  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, reporting, scheduling classes, setting up equipment, and tracking participant progress

  • Stay on time when delivering instruction in a concise, efficient way

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or GED; 2-year degree or a combination of education and related experience

  • Strong computer skills, including a basic understanding of, and familiarity with, Microsoft Office 365 tools including: Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in the field of logistics, distribution, or transportation with a preferred knowledge of industrial equipment operation, specifically reachlift and forklift operation, OSHA guidelines, quality control systems (5S, Six-Sigma, etc.), supply chain logistics, and hazardous waste operations

  • At least 1 year experience working as a trainer or within a job whose duties include training employees or clients on compliance-based required topics

  • Forklift certified on all 3 pieces of equipment: Sit down, Stand reach lift, and electric pallet jack

*Must be available for several Saturday classes.
